GETTING STARTED IN 2022 WITH ANXIETY?

Starting a new year, can come with a lot of endless worries especially with regards to Health, Finance, Career, and even Family. This could be a a a result of unaccomplished goals in the previous year.

Anxiety disorders

For some, anxiety can spring forth as a boost to have goals set and accomplished in the new year, while for others with preexisting anxiety disorders, this feeling can be engulfing.

Anxiety disorders are one of the most common Mental Health conditions, with 284 million people affected around the world 1. It is also one of the most easily treated Mental Health disorders with the right medicaty and talk therapy2

This disorder can be expressed as "social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, medication-induced anxiety disorder" which presents excessive fear and persistent worry as a common sign2.

Possible triggers

Possible triggers are unique to the type of Anxiety Disorders. These are not limited to the following:3

• Medications

• Stress

• Trauma

• Environment

• Genetics

While it is normal to be thoughtful towards the New year, we should deliberately avoid triggers of anxiety by;

• Rest

• Exercise

• Good feeding habits

• Appropriate use of medications

• Proper education from Healthcare providers.
